– 1 1/2 cups flour
– 1 cup chopped walnuts
– 1 teaspoon baking powder

Method:

  •  Grease and flour 12 muffin molds.
  •  Preheat the oven to 350F.
  •  In a large mixing bowl, take the butter and mashed bananas and mix them using a wooden spoon.
  •  In a small bowl, beat the egg till fluffy.

What you will need:

– Whole wheat flour – 1 1/2 cups
– Oat flour – 1/2 cup
– All-purpose flour – 1 cup
– Active dry yeast – 2 1/2 teaspoons
– Warm water or milk – 1 cup
– White sugar – 2 tablespoons
– Butter (at room temperature) – 2 tablespoons
– Salt – 1/2 teaspoon

Preparation:

– In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, oat flour and all-purpose flour.
– Mix the yeast with the warm milk and sugar. Stir to dissolve completely. Let it stand for 10 minutes.
– Pour the yeast mix in the bread pan of the bread machine.
– Put the flour mixture on top of the yeast mixture and add the butter and salt on the sides. Put the lid on the bread pan.
– Set the machine to run on white bread cycle with normal crust.

  4.  In a frying pan, heat 2 teaspoons of oil and add the nigella seeds, fennel seeds, bay leaves and green chilies.
  5.  Add the chopped onion and fry on medium heat until the onions turn transparent and light brown in color (like they have been caramelized).
  6.  Add the gram flour, coriander powder, garam masala and red chili powder, and fry for 2-3 minutes until the spices coat the onions well.
  7.  Take off the heat and add the salt and fresh coriander leaves.
  8.  Remove the bay leaves from the mix and let it cool completely.
  9.  Divide the mix in 12 equal parts.
  10.  Roll out one portion of the dough to a 2-inch diameter circle.
  11.  Place one portion of the onion filling in the center of the rolled out dough.
  12.  Cover the filling by folding the dough around it to make a ball.
  13.  Lightly roll out the dough to about a 3-inch diameter bread. – Take care so that the filling does not spill out. Also take care to ensure that the dough has an even thickness, otherwise it will not cook properly.
  14.  Do this with the remaining 11 dough portions.
  15.  Heat the oil for frying in a frying pan and fry the filled dough on a low heat until golden brown in color.
  16.  This will take some time to cook as the dough needs to be cooked from the inside.
  17.  Serve hot with tamarind and tomato chutney.

  4.  In a mixing bowl, mix the cream cheese and sugar and beat using a food processor or a blender at a low speed until you get a smooth creamy mix.

  •  The most important part of sourdough bread is the right preparation of the starter, which   needs to be prepared at least a week before you want to make the bread.
  •  To prepare the starter, dissolve the yeast in ½ cup of warm water.
  •  Take a deep jar, mix the other ingredients, and whisk in the yeast.
  •  Cover with a cheesecloth and let it rest for about a week before using.
  •  If you notice any liquid on top of the starter at the end of the week, it is just Hooch and you can stir it back in before use.
  •  To start making your bread, take one cup of the week old starter and let it rest for some time before using.
  •  Clean and dry the bread machine pan and put 1 cup of flour, yeast, salt, butter and sugar into it. Select the warm cycle setting and choose the type of crust you want.
  •  Start the machine and while it is running, slowly add the milk and the sourdough starter.
  •  Also add the softened butter
